BACKGROUND
Sugi means 'Cedar' in Japanese and Cryptomeria Japonica is Japan's national tree.
The tree has been used for shelter around most kiwifruit farms in the North Island of New Zealand. We harvest the trimming when available and they are distilled by our North Island distillers.
It's interesting to distill as the aroma goes through a number of phases.
FRAGRANCE
A woody and peppery evergreen aroma with mildly sweet undertones. Sugi is added to perfumes.
USES
Sugi is a calming, soothing essential oil that helps you relax when feeling tense and overly alert.
When used in massage it helps improve the circulation and removes toxins. It relaxes tension and discomfort in tight muscles and stiff joints and is a useful immune system booster.
It can be used in skincare support for oily and greasy skin types, and offers a highly anti-microbial profile, making it a good choice for acne and spotty skins.
