BACKGROUND
Sitka Spruce not being a wilding but is a species that was planted as a potential forest species in New Zealand. We have looked for other resources of this species and have found many small plantings away in the back high country of forest estates. We have access to this material. The forest we deal with are all FSC certified forests practicing good forest management.
We collect the tips of branches and the waste residue at a young age during thinning or pruning. This is a difficult oil to produce.
The forests we collect from are in the Otago and Southland region of New Zealand. We harvest just prior to winter.
FRAGRANCE
